Water Seal, also acoustic absorption - We offer a variety of foams for sealing against water. They differ by how much water they will resist, from one inch to over three inches, based on at least 50% compression in the application. These foams are costed from lowest to highest as Hydrofoam, Ultra Hydrofoam, Hydrolok and Super Seal. Hydrolok affords the best combination of water and air sealability, while Super Seal affords the greatest resistance to water.
They all have the capability to absorb high frequency noise and all can function as “Quiet” gaskets pending the particulars of the application.

General, open cell acoustical absorption - For applications where a high percentage of open cells are desired, particularly those that encourage air penetration, hence high frequency sound absorption, we recommend beginning with 46F foam, then working through higher density foams such as 4E and 6E until the performance characteristic is achieved. |
